The assignment
Facet is the digital system Dutch schools use for tests and exams, built by the CvTE and DUO for the Ministry of Education.
I had a central role in modernising it from a traditional three-tier JSF, Spring and Hibernate monolith into microservices on the Spring Cloud stack, with stateless, scalable APIs and separate frontend projects. The result: 30,000 students can sit an exam online at the same time.
